On September 25, 2024, Jia Bingjun, Director of the International Business Department of China Datang Corporation Ltd. and Chairman of China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., met with Orkhan Zaynalov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, and his delegation at the company headquarters. The meeting focused on potential cooperation in renewable energy investments and advancing Azerbaijan's energy transition and green development.

Jia Bingjun welcomed Deputy Minister Orkhan Zaynalov and his delegation and provided an overview of China Datang Corporation and its international business operations. He emphasized that as a leading energy enterprise in China, China Datang is actively supporting Belt and Road Initiative and is committed to expanding into international energy markets. Jia highlighted China Datang's strong interest in investing in Azerbaijan's energy and power sectors, expressing the company's readiness to contribute its extensive experience in energy project investment, construction, and operations to support Azerbaijan's green energy initiatives. He expressed hope that through joint efforts, both sides could achieve significant results in clean energy cooperation and that China Datang would continue to contribute to the sustained energy collaboration between China and Azerbaijan.

Deputy Minister Orkhan Zaynalov expressed his gratitude for Datang Corporation's warm reception and provided an in-depth overview of Azerbaijan's energy development plans and transition needs. He noted that Azerbaijan was one of the earliest nations to respond to and actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative, with remarkable achievements in bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Currently, the Azerbaijani government is focused on accelerating investment and cooperation in the renewable energy sector to promote the transformation and upgrading of its energy structure. Zaynalov emphasized that China Datang, as a major global energy group with significant accomplishments in green and low-carbon transition, aligns closely with Azerbaijan's energy development goals. He assured that the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan is ready to provide full support and assistance to China Datang in advancing energy projects within the country.
