From April 8 to 10, 2024, Jia Bingjun, the Director of the International Business Department of the China Datang Corporation Ltd., Chairman, and CEO of China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., was invited to Uzbekistan to attend the launching ceremony of industrial energy project of Jizzakh Region, paid a visit to the ambassador of China in Uzbekistan, met relevant Chinese-funded enterprises in Uzbekistan, conducted a research in the Central Asia Representative Office of China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Energy of the republic of Uzbekistan, Jia Bingjun attended the launching ceremony of key industrial energy project to Jizzakh Region, Uzbekistan on April 8, 2024. President Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan attended the ceremony and introduced the PV and other key projects to be invested and constructed by China Datang in Uzbekistan, and asked the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the local government to give full support to ensure the early implementation of the projects. During the ceremony, Jia Bingjun and Minister Mirzamakhmutov of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, jointly signed an agreement on the development of smart integrated energy projects. During the meeting, Jia Bingjun expressed his appreciation for the long-term support of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan to China Datang, introduced the latest progress of relevant projects, and put forward opinions and suggestions on jointly promoting the construction of Buka PV Project and accelerating the development of Navoi Wind Power Project. Mirzamakhmutov said that the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan attaches great importance to cooperation with China Datang, and will carefully study the suggestions put forward by Datang, provide necessary conditions for the project development and construction, and continue to deepen practical cooperation between the two sides.

After the ceremony, accompanied by Mr. Isakov, CEO of Uztransgaz JSC., Jia Bingjun made a site survey on the integrated energy project. Jia Bingjun focused on the operation of Uzbekistan Natural Gas Transmission Co., Ltd. and listened to the preliminary suggestions of Uzbekistan Natural Gas Transmission Co., Ltd. on the development of integrated energy projects. He said that China Datang will give full play to its advantages in the development of new energy and smart integrated energy projects, set up a professional team to study the project conditions and promote the project development. Isakov said that Uzbekistan Natural Gas Transmission Co., Ltd. attaches great importance to this cooperation opportunity, regards China Datang as an important strategic partner, and will actively support and cooperate with the project development.

On the morning of April 9, Jia Bingjun met with Yu Jun, the Chinese Ambassador in Uzbekistan. Jia Bingjun introduced the development layout of international business of China Datang Corporation Ltd. to Yu Jun, and reported the project development and resource acquisition of China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. in Uzbekistan in recent years. He said that China Datang would actively respond to the national “Belt and Road” and would seize the policy window period for in-depth cooperation between China and Uzbekistan and actively promote the investment and development of new energy business. Yu Jun welcomed the visit of Jia Bingjun and his party, introduced the political, economic and business environment of Uzbekistan, and said that the Embassy would support and help the investment and development of China Datang in Uzbekistan.

On the morning of April 9, Jia Bingjun went to the new office of Central Asia Representative Office, listened to the work report of Central Asia Representative Office, communicated with the cadres and employees attending the meeting, fully affirmed the achievements made by all of them, and put forward four requirements for the next steps. First, we should deeply study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions on high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind, and give full play to the mission and responsibilities of central enterprises. Second, we should strengthen confidence, make every effort to promote high-quality green and sustainable development in Central Asia, make overall efforts to obtain resources and coordinate the development of key projects, stick to the bottom-line thinking, and create a good atmosphere for entrepreneurship. Third, we should strengthen the construction of talent team in Central Asia, do a good job in establishing rules and regulations, establish the awareness of rules and regulations, and build the system and mechanism for joint efforts to overcome difficulties. Fourth, we should tell Chinese stories and Datang’s stories well in Central Asia, do a good job in cultural integration, establish a good corporate image, and expand the influence of China Datang brand. After the meeting, he encouraged everyone to take advantage of the momentum and strive for success on the ancient Silk Road. In the afternoon, Jia Bingjun talked with representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises such as Dongfang Electric International Cooperation and Huawei Intelligent Energy Company in Uzbekistan to learn more about the development of enterprises in Uzbekistan and explore the opportunities for win-win cooperation.
